Angel and Demon

Angel and Demon

He is a boy with a kind smile
I’m the girl with devilish grin,
A radiance sighted from a mile
One who shred light on all my sin

One who wears his heart on his sleeves
And she who kept it underneath
He who opens up the peoples hearts
Catched her in a glimpse, from the start

And the bad ass girl I once was
Teared his heart open, and I must
Fought for him and my love for him
But the demons inside are mean

He was a boy with that kind smile
And he used to love me, while I–
I’m still the girl with devilish grin
And I still love him.

Summertime Sadness

Weeks after the trip in Zambales, we went to this resort called Westwind in Morong, Bataan. It’s a cozy and quiet place that’s absolutely perfect for unwinding and relaxation. I love the ambiance and its amazing staff that are really kind and well-trained. So it took us about an hour and a half to get there from our house in Mabalacat.

As long as we got there, you can see  the furnished and beautiful place and it’s view. The resort has its own pool if you don’t want to swim in the beach. There’s a table alongside the pool for family and friends to catch up. The beach is just meters away from the gate of the resort so it’s not a problem.

The sun is high and bright so we decided to swim at the pool first. After getting all wet and worked out, we do some catching up, singing, eating and lots of things. It’s not a crowded place and it’s very nice since you will not be embarassed in wearing your swimsuit.

We went to the beach to perfectly witnessed the sunset. It’s so beautiful! Well, sunsets and sunrises are always beautiful in oceans. The way the sun kisses the seems-like end of the beach is such a ravishing beauty. Of course the day wouldn’t be perfect without the most amazing people around you. Sometimes it’s not the place that makes it memorable, sometimes it’s the people who you’re with.

The summer I turned pretty

It was after our graduation in junior high and finally it’s summer. The most awaited season of everybody. My friends are already posting pictures of their summer get away and I was there lying on the couch lazily with nothing to do.

I was so excited when my mom told me we’ll be going to Zambales, although I’ve been there before. I badly need it since it was a tough year for me and my family and I was broken that time. So I decided to relax a bit and think things through.

We were on our way to Iba, Zambales when the person in charge called us and told us that our supposed to be room is already filled in. Of course, we were all annoyed since we were in line up for that room to be booked. I was so frustrated since it was all planned and ready so I decided to look in the net and fortunately we saw one.

So we headed to this place in Ambay, Zambales. And we are all shocked when we got there because it was too quiet. I can almost hear my heartbeat that sounds like crazy and at first it was really scary. Once I looked over the place, I was mesmerized by its beauty. I can hear the rushing waves from afar. There’s a courtside where you can play basketball or volleyball. The house has two large rooms that can fit us in and a veranda on the front. There’s a hall on the side and a bar counter but it’s abandoned.

The beauty of the ocean always amazed me. The way it hits the shore, the countless waves, the fined sand and the smell of it. It’s just literally everything. It was such a clear blue water under and there are also small fishes. We can’t ride a boat since they are not up to it. I didn’t take lots of pictures because I want to feel it thoroughly.

When the sun sets down we rest for a while, sang in the karaoke, never ending foods and drinking. When the night has come, we built the bonfire and played games. We catched some little crabs for fun and let them go after. It was such a fun night. When everyone’s tired they get back to their rooms I stayed late that night to cherish those moments. To see the dark sky and shining stars up above. Indeed, it was the summer I let go of hatred, of pain, of sickness, and of him. This was the summer I felt and turned pretty on my own.

Dancing in the dark

Late January when me and my cousins decided to go to Baguio City, the Summer Capital of the Philippines. We took the bus from Dau station up to the terminal in Baguio and our aunt picked us there. We stayed there for about a week in our aunt’s place in Lower Pingit, Baguio City. Since we already saw the main tourists spots  before, we took the other places not really that crowded.

The morning air is cold but the sun is so bright and it’s even colder at night that I feel like I’m in Korea. So at our first day we rest first since we’re tired from the trip and at night we went to the night market in Harrison road. You can buy there a lot of things at very low price, much as for your new kicks and they are even original. We go to different food stalls and tried everything. It’s a very crowded place but it’s so fun since the things are inexpensive and are affordable. Then the next day, we go to the Tam- awan Village where you’ll see the Ifugao houses before, the different paintings, the known Kalinga house, there’s a fish pond too. You’ll need to hike a bit and walk in slippery floors so be careful. When you reach the top it is such a beauty for sure.

For guidance and protection,we visited Lourdes Grotto. It is located on a high hill to finally reach it you’ll need to prepare yourself for the 252 steps. So we light up our candles with different colors that have different meanings. After that, we made it to the Philippine Military Academy or PMA. It is a known training ground for soldiers or officers. Remember NOT to wear sandals because it isn’t allowed. It is a very strict place and you’ll see lots of future officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and they were so amazing! They won’t even look at you. There’s also a tree house there and it’s so cute and from the top is such a nice view. There is also a museum inside it where you’ll see the different soldiers in the time of Martial Law and their barracks and how they look like.

The last place we went to is the beautiful and glowing Christmas Village. It’s fun to experienced a White Christmas here in our country. Even it’s only an artificial snow the twinkling lights and the amazing thing here is that most of the things you’ll see here are all recycled materials. I didn’t even noticed them at first until my cousin told me that they were. It felt as if you are really living in another country. Their tall christmas trees, the paper houses, the crew who danced and sing and portrays characters in Bible. It is an educational trip too for all of us, no matter what age are you. It is a worthwhile experience for me and it sends us the true meaning of Christmas.
